A Schengen visa is a document showing that your have permission to enter Norway and other Schengen countries for a limited period of up to 90 days. You may be granted a Schengen visa if you intend to travel to Norway as a tourist, on a family visit, on public business or a business trip, a study visit or other business which does not require a work or residence permit.

An application for Residence Permit must be submitted at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok, but will be forwarded by the Embassy to the Directorate of Immigration (UDI) in Norway for consideration. The applicant has to stay in his/her home country until the permit has been granted by UDI.
