Welcome to Norway Cup 2012

Last updated: 25/11/2011 // Bækkelagets Sportsklub and Dagbladet have the great pleasure of inviting your football team to Norway Cup. This is the largest tournament in the World for youths commencing in Oslo week 31 every year. The tournament is a melting pot with youths from the four corners of the world, meeting fellow footballers and making new friends.

In 2012, between 29 July and 4 August, the annual tournament will be arranged for the 40th time. Norway Cup was first held in 1972 where 420 teams participated. Since 1972, the Cup has had an average of 1 164 teams each year, with the participants ranging from the age of 10 to 19 and coming from about 50 to 60 different nations.

In modern times, Norway Cup has developed into much more than just the world's biggest football tournament, and has for many years been involved in several of the most important issues in society - The colourful friendship is one such example. Friendship across nationalities, cultures, languages, and skin colours is a dimension that is constantly becoming more important for the tournament, emerging it into an arena for co-existence, regardless of athletic level, religion, color, tradition and upbringing.
