More than ten times before has Thailand received this prestigious award.
-It is obvious that Norwegians have a special relationship with the country. We see that many people are returning. Thailand has something to offer everyone. It has friendly people, is a beautiful country and has a fantastic climate, said Erlend Ellingsen, editor of the travel magazine Travel News.
Thai Airways International also won in the category Best Intercontinental Airline, this for the sixt time. THAI's General Manager for Denmark and Norway, Pricha Nawongs, received the award at the ceremony taking place in Oslo on January 7, 2010.
-I am honoured to receive this award. Since the route between Oslo and Bangkok was established in June 2009, the support from the Norwegian travel trade have been amazing. The award will encourage us to work harder for the Norwegians," Pricha said.
It is estimated that more than 150.000 Norwegians will visit Thailand this year, which is a noticeable increase from last year.
