Foreign Minister concerned about the military take-over in Thailand

Last updated: 23.05.2014 // Foreign Minister Børge Brende has expressed concern about the military coup d'état in Thailand.

"It is worrying that the military have seized power in Thailand. It is now vital that the military show restraint, that human rights are respected and the use of violence is avoided," said Minister of Foreign Affairs Børge Brende in a statement on 22 May. "‘I expect the democratic process to be reinstated as quickly as possible with a view to establishing a legitimate government elected by the people. Such a process is also crucial for political reconciliation", said Mr. Brende.
