The embassy will close on the 4 th of June out of respect for the local Buddhist Wisakha Bucha Day. Business will resume as usual as of the 5 th . Furthermore, the embassy will be closed on the 12 th of June. Business will resume as usual as of the 13 th .

In response to requests from the Norwegian business community in the region, the Embassy in Bangkok and Innovation Norway, in collaboration with the Norwegian Business Association Singapore and Thai-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, arranged for a fact-finding mission to Myanmar on 2-5 May.

Further easing of restrictions on trade with Myanmar

The Government decided Friday that Myanmar should no longer be excluded from the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP). “This is a signal that Norway recognises the political reforms in Myanmar and hopes to see further democratic developments,” said Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

I serien ”Contemporary World Films” viser The Foreign Correspondence Club of Thailand (FCCT) for første gang en norsk film. Det er spillefilmen ”Upperdog” fra 2009 som vises i FCCTs lokaler torsdag 31. mai 2012 kl. 20.00.

The recent exhibition, “Polar Norway - the White Adventure”, was met with a keen local interest here in Bangkok. As a follow up, the embassy and the National Science Museum arranged for the topical workshop entitled “Thailand and the Polar Regions – Consequences of Climate Change” held on March 1st.
