Norwegians love Thailand! There are thousands of Norwegians in the “land of the smiles” at all times. This means, of course, that some of them will need medical assistance from time to time. The Embassy routinely visits hospitals around Thailand which are the ones most frequently used by Norwegians, to ensure that the best level of medical care is provided.

Ca. 1 av 700 barn blir født med leppe/ganespalte i Thailand. En operasjon koster ca. 5000 norske kroner. Dette er en stor sum for mange. I februar var to ansatte fra ambassaden, Heidi Thams og Gro Aaserød, med som frivillige deltakere på et kirurgisk feltbesøk i Mae Hong Son, nordvest i Thailand på grensen til Myanmar. Her møtte de mange barn og unge med et stort behov for hjelp.
